Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has done a complete U-turn regarding his future at Old Trafford. Now, he looks set to stay.
That’s according to the usually excellent ESPN, with the 30-year-old set to sign a new United contract, with both parties close to agreeing a compromise.
The Belgium international is due to announce his decision on July 1st, which is now just a few days away.
It was earlier this month when it seemed as though Fellaini was on his way out, but it looks as though the club have been more lenient in contract talks. Now it seems as though the 6’5 midfielder will be sticking around for a little while yet…
Honestly, I’ll be disappointed if this news turns out to be true. I’ve no issue with the club keeping Fellaini, but I think it’s fair to say the situation hasn’t been handled well; at all.
This does go to show how much Jose Mourinho values the former Everton man, and at the very least, it does mean that when the time comes to sell Fellaini, at least the club will get some of the £27.5million that they laid out to sign him back in the way of a transfer fee.
