Manchester United players have jetted off to Dubai for a few days of warm weather training as the hectic winter period has come to an end.
However, according to the usually reliable Guardian, Paul Pogba didn’t make the flight as he’s still nursing an injury that he picked up in the game against Newcastle United.
The problem occurred after what can only be described as a shocking tackle from Jonjo Shelvey, and it kept the Frenchman out of United’s 2-0 home victory against Reading yesterday.
However, the injury cannot be too serious, as Pogba is expected to join up with his teammates ‘soon’.
To me, that suggests that United feel the midfielder will be fit to take on Tottenham Hotspur next weekend, and that’s hugely important. The 25-year-old is by far and away our most talented player, and we’re going to need him at his brilliant best if we’re to secure any sort of positive result against Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
For now, it’s down to Pogba to keep working hard and get himself back in the mix for selection as early as possible. With the game being a week away, he does have time on his side, but the longer his recovery takes, the less likely it is that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will select him.
