Manchester United midfielder Fred has suffered an injury scare in Brazil training.
Sky Sports News report that the 25-year-old picked up the problem in a tackle with Casemiro, and he had to sit out the remainder of the session.
Apparently, Brazil will know more about the injury tomorrow, they’ll then decide whether to send the former Shakhtar Donetsk player for a scan.
Hopefully, the problem isn’t anything too serious. It doesn’t look like a great challenge from the Real Madrid man, but with the World Cup still over a week away – he does have time to get himself sorted before heading to Russia.
It would be immensely cruel if he had to pull out of the tournament altogether, but at this point in time, we’re just guessing about the severity. I guess the best thing to do is to wait until tomorrow and see how Fred is…
Personally, I just cannot wait to see this lad play. He looks the real deal, and after a good few years playing his football in the Ukraine, he’s finally earned his big-money move.
If fit, you’ll get to see Fred in action for the first time on June 10th, when Brazil take on Austria in a friendly.
