Manchester United Football Club are facing a mini-crisis at the moment, in regards to several players who are coming towards the end of their contracts.
One man who could potentially leave Old Trafford for free is Ander Herrera. Now, Corriere Dello Sport, translated by Calciomercato, claim that Inter Milan are weighing up a move for the Basque-born midfielder on a Bosman transfer.
Herrera, 29, has struggled to break into the team this season, but he has been playing recently, and performing rather well. Many forget that he was probably our best performer during Jose Mourinho’s debut season in charge, but has oddly fallen down the pecking order.
I like Herrera, as a squad player, he’s a great option to have. He brings energy and tenacity to the midfield. He offers something different to what the bulk of Jose Mourinho’s current midfielders bring to the table.
Personally, I think that the self-proclaimed Special One should be doing more to find a place in the team for Herrera, but obviously, that’s easier said than done; particularly as when they’re fit, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are always going to play.
Hopefully, Herrera and United can come to some sort of agreement, because he’s definitely worth hanging on to.
