Serie A giants Inter Milan have turned down the chance to sign Daley Blind this summer.
That’s what FCInterNews say, translated by talkSPORT. Apparently, the 28-year-old’s representatives are on the search for a new club, but he will not be heading to the San Siro.
The versatile Blind became a bit-part player under Jose Mourinho last summer, leading me to believe that he will be on the move before the transfer window slams shut.
I like Blind and I think he’s a great player to have in and around the squad. The Dutchman is by no means a world-beater, but the fact that he can do a job in various positions is a brilliant asset to any manager.
At his age, the former Ajax man has to think about his career. Blind is approaching the stage where he’s only got one big-money move left in him, and for that to happen, he simply has to be playing week-in-week-out.
No doubt that he’ll have offers aplenty to mull over during the summer, but the fact that the Netherlands aren’t involved in the World Cup means that he doesn’t have to worry about anything else and he can be 100% focused on choosing his next side.
