As it is often mentioned, Manchester United are the club side in world football with the second-most amount of players representing any one club at the World Cup. The only side ahead of them in terms of numbers is Bayern Munich, and we here at Old Trafford Faithful plan to let you know how our lads get on after every game.
There were two Manchester United players in action yesterday, including Patrice Evra and Antonio Valencia.
Switzerland 2-1 Ecuador
Unfortunately Ecuador captain Antonio valencia was on the lost end of their opening World Cup match. Ecuador deserved their lead early on, but struggled to impose their game on the opponents as the clock ticked. Valencia didn’t do an awful lot from a Manchester United point of view, but hopefully that’ll improve in the next game.
France 3-0 Honduras
France looked very good yesterday – as did a certain Patrice Evra. He bombed down the left-hand side all game and pinned Honduras in their own half. He managed to grab an assist for one of Karim Bemzema’s goals, and on the whole had an excellent game. Its great news that we’ve signed him on a one-year contract extension, because I still think he has something to offer.
