Manchester United fans have been begging for Jadon Sancho transfer news now that the season is over. Well, here at Old Trafford Faithful, we’ve got you covered.
Today’s update in the ongoing saga comes from Sky Sports News, and it’s a positive one for us Red Devils fans.
Apparently, United are growing ‘increasingly confident’ that a deal to sign the 20-year-old superstar can be done this summer. It comes after the Red Devils have cooled interest in Jack Grealish.
Furthermore, Dortmund are holding out for a fee of £109m (€120m) while wanting £90.5m (€100m) up front. In the current climate, I find it hard to see those demands being met.
Again, it’s reiterated that Dortmund want a deal done by August 10th, giving them ample time to find a replacement. That leaves United with just under two weeks to go out there and make this move happen.
At the end of the day, money talks. Even if United dawdle a bit and the deal isn’t agreed to before August 10th, I’d still expect a deal to go through – particularly if the Red Devils get close to Dortmund’s asking price.
This story feels pretty similar to one we covered yesterday from Sky Sports, though it’s nice to know there’s a confidence within the 20-time Premier League champions that this deal could happen.
We’re talking about probably the most naturally-gifted young player in football at the moment. Sancho has it all and what he’d bring to this United squad cannot be understated.
In a normal transfer window, I’d feel very confident about a deal being agreed. However, there’s still some doubt that due to the eyewatering figures being mention, it may just be too much during these bizarre times.
United can look at Sancho’s winding down contract and use that to their advantage, though…
