Jesse Lingard explains bizarre goal celebration for Manchester United

Manchester United secured their first Premier League win in three outings on Saturday afternoon, with the breakthrough goal coming from the man of the moment Jesse Lingard.

Lingard scored his first goal for the club in the game yesterday, and celebrated by doing an odd ‘shark dance’ alongside teammate Daley Blind.

Proud to get my 1st goal for the club, most importantly we got the 3 points,” Lingard wrote on Instagram.

“The celebration was from the film any given sunday. STEAMIN WILLIE BEAMEN.”

Its perhaps the most odd celebration we’ve seen in a while, but overall Lingard was once again extremely impressive. The Warrington-born man has been in superb form recently, and its testament to the faith shown in him by Louis van Gaal. Hopefully he can keep it up and throw a real marker down to the likes of Memphis Depay and Ashley Young.
