Last summer, Manchester United broke the world record transfer fee to bring in Paul Pogba from Juventus. The midfielder left the club in acrimonious circumstances to head to the Serie A, but it was absolutely brilliant to have him back ‘home’ and performing at an extremely high level.
When Pogba plays, he just makes everyone else around him that much better. For me, that tells you all you need to know about his quality. His presence in the middle of the park was one of the main reasons as to why we finished the season with two trophies, and you get the feeling that the best is still yet to come.
That is a sentiment echoed by his pal Jesse Lingard. The Englishman has been speaking to the media about Pogba, discussing the fact that he has such a positive impact on the rest of the team – particularly before games.
“He has settled back in,” Lingard told Sky Sports, as per Goal.
“He is a fun, vibrant lad and he gives a lot of good energy off, especially in the changing room.”
“He can make the atmosphere very good before games and really get you on it.”
Pogba has an infectious personality that rubs off on the rest of the dressing room. But, when the time comes for the serious business he gets right down to it and gives his all for the cause.
He’s the kind of guy that Mourinho can build a team around, that’s just how good of a footballer he is. I expect an awful lot more from him next season, particularly in the bread and butter of the Premier League. He’s a winner, and I’ve got no doubts that before his time as a Red Devil is over, Pogba will be celebrating at least a few more trophies.
