Jesse Lingard’s fine form is set to be rewarded with a nice little wage-hike for the Englishman.
The Sun, per The Express, claims that the Englishman is going to enjoy a £25,000-a-week increase from the £75,000 he currently earns; taking his pay up to £100,000-a-week.
Apparently, their were various performance-based clauses inserted into his contract, and after an excellent season, only behind Romelu Lukaku in terms of Red Devils goals, you have to say he simply deserves every single penny.
His season has been absolutely brilliant and you have to say it was rather unexpected. He’s always worked his socks off for the cause, but this season he’s added that killer instinct to his overall game. Scoring thirteen goals and tacking on six assists for his teammates is an excellent return.
It’s always special watching homegrown players succeed at Manchester United, it’s something that has always been in the DNA of the club, but under Jose Mourinho, you have to say that reputation has only enhanced; fronted by Lingard and Marcus Rashford.
The fact that he’s keeping the likes of the aforementioned Rashford, as well as Anthony Martial on the bench, that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the season he’s having.
