Manchester United fans could’ve just been dealt a bitter blow ahead of Paul Pogba’s debut for the club. Jose Mourinho met the media for his routine pre-match press conference, and he told MUTV that the 23-year-old Frenchman is ready to play ‘some minutes’ for his new club.
It would make sense not to start Pogba after so long without playing, but all the pointers have led towards our new marauding midfielder to make a start in that game.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like that will be the case which is will obviously be disappointing for the fans. It does seem like the sensible decision, though, and Jose will be aware of the fans who so desperately wanted Pogba to start.
“He’s ready to play. Ninety minutes I don’t believe, super performance, I don’t believe.” Jose is quoted as saying.
He needs to be eased into proceedings at Old Trafford. There would be absolutely nothing worse than rushing him back, for Pogba to pick up a more serious injury which could potentially keep him sidelined for longer.

As a whole, you’d expect Manchester United to have enough to overcome Southampton without Paul Pogba starting, but hopefully, we’ll see him make his debut from off of the bench at some point.
