Manchester United dropped a couple more home points at the weekend, as WBA came to Old Trafford and defended diligently for ninety minutes. The visitors were well worth their point in the end, with the home team struggling to create any real clear-cut openings.
When the squad was named, we were somewhat surprised to see Luke Shaw’s name left out, and today, we could have just learned why courtesy of the manager.
The boss has launched a scathing attack on Luke Shaw, as he has now questioned the commitments of the former Southampton man.
Jose was asked about Shaw, and how he compares to Blind, Young and Darmian. The Manchester United manager responded:
“I cannot compare the way he trains and commits, the focus, the ambition. He is a long way behind,” Mourinho is quoted as saying by the BBC.
For me, I just cannot see any way back for the young left-back now. The 21-year-old has been absolutely laid into by the manager here, purely based on his attitude and his desire to work hard.
Once Jose Mourinho makes up his mind, it is very tough to change that opinion, and honestly, Shaw will probably be one of the first names out of the door when this summer comes around.
That’s absolutely gutting because we all know how talented he is. From here on out, I’d be surprised if we see him play for the Red Devils again, and he may not get to play a competitive game of football until the start of next season – which won’t be good for his overall fitness levels.
