Jose Mourinho confirms key Man Utd player is ‘ready’ after close to two months without a start

Manchester United’s fixture list is looking rather busy over the next week or so, and that’s even before the Europa League competition gets going again. Tonight, the Reds travel to Hull City, before a cup game against Wigan in a few days’ time. Then, Jose’s team will host Hull again next midweek.

Jose Mourinho’s next piece of news comes at a great time then, as he has confirmed that Luke Shaw is now back in full training, and working without limitations again.

The 21-year-old left-back hasn’t started since the back end of November – almost two months ago now. However, he is finally available for selection, and Jose hints at the fact that United’s best full-back (in my opinion), could play over the next few games.

“He’s ready to play now,” the manager told “He’s ready to play so now you can find [it] natural if he plays on Thursday, he plays Sunday or next Wednesday. He’s now working without limitations so, now, he’s ready.

“He is ready but it’s a position we have other options [in] too so it’s one of the positions where they have to fight, they have to compete, they have to show quality and stability in their performances to be in the team.”

It is great to have the Englishman back ready and available. He is obviously a huge talent, but that injury he suffered last season certainly set him back somewhat. However, I believe he’s the best left-back we have by quite some distance. That’s no knock on both Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind by the way, who have both played very well out there recently.

I just cannot wait to see him back on the field, and hopefully, he can prove to the manager that he can be a vital cog in our starting eleven.
