Manchester United’s biggest game of the season is just two days away. Jose Mourinho will reignite a fire between him and Pep Guardiola, when Red meets Blue at the Theatre of Dreams.
Ahead of that match, the self-proclaimed Special One met the media to discuss all things derby day. To my surprise, Mourinho confirmed that the key trio of Phil Jones, Nemanja Matic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all fit and ready to play.

This couldn’t have been more timely. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has missed the last few games due to fatigue, but to have him available as a bench option at the very least is massive.
Phil Jones was easily United’s best defender before he went down with an injury while playing for England about a month ago now. Whether he’ll start is another question entirely, but it’s great to have some depth there.
As for Nemanja Matic, what a player. I don’t think anyone expected the Serbia star to make the impact he has, and I’m still left wondering why Chelsea let him leave. To have him fit for the derby is huge, as he’ll be tasked with completely nullifying a deadly City attack.
