Manchester United’s second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final takes place tomorrow, with Jose Mourinho’s men holding a 2-0 lead over Hull City on aggregate. The reverse fixture at the KCOM won’t be easy, due to an upturn in The Tigers’ form since Silva’s arrival as boss.
Ahead of the clash, Manchester United’s boss Jose Mourinho has had his say on the team news, and the gaffer has pretty much a full complement of players ready for action; except for Eric Bailly who is missing, despite his Ivory Coast side being knocked out of the African Cup of Nations. It doesn’t look like he’ll be long, though.
“Everybody is available,” Mourinho told MUTV. “Bailly didn’t arrive yet but his national team had a defeat yesterday and are knocked out of the competition, so he is coming back. In this moment everybody is available and my choices will be to try to go with a team that I think can guarantee us a good match.”
This certainly gives Jose Mourinho the chance to chop and change his team, especially with games coming thick and fast. We could well see the return to action of Luke Shaw, which in my opinion would be great. Also, I wouldn’t mind seeing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba on the bench, allowing them to rest up for more important fixtures that are on the horizon.
