Jose Mourinho confirms only one player is unavailable for Manchester United against Reading

Manchester United Football Club will be all ready for action now, with their FA Cup campaign for the 2016/17 season starting in under 24 hours’ time. Let’s not forget this is a trophy that the Red Devils currently hold, and they’ll clearly be keen to defend their crown.

Reading FC are the visitors to Old Trafford, and their manager is none other than Jaap Stam, who used to be a mainstay at the heart of Manchester United’s defence.

Jose Mourinho met the media ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash, and he confirmed that he only has one player unavailable for this game. The news came from Manchester United’s official Twitter account earlier today, as Eric Bailly is the only man missing due to his participation in the African Cup of Nations.

This means that Mourinho has 26 players fit out of the 27-man squad, meaning he has plenty of options and choices available for this one. I’d fully expect to see some of the so-called ‘bigger names’ rested, and that would make perfect sense.

It also confirms that Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw are both back in training, and in my opinion, it’d be the perfect time to give them a chance to get back into the fold.
