Jose Mourinho all-but confirms two starters for Man United’s game against Everton

Manchester United Football Club named a team with changes aplenty in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with Jose Mourinho’s men coming through that game with a 3-0 victory. Now, with Everton at Old Trafford on the horizon, the gaffer has already given us some early team news.

The self-proclaimed Special One has said that he’ll ‘probably’ revert back to the duo of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones because they’ll be fresh after their continental suspensions; and it certainly makes sense.

“If you want to anticipate the next weekend I probably play Bailly and Jones because today they didn’t play, because they are fresh, because it makes sense for them to play again, but then two days after we have a League Cup match, so Victor and [Chris] Smalling again.” Jose Mourinho told reporters, as per Sports Mole.

Bailly and Jones have started the season brilliantly (minus an off-day against Stoke City), and it makes a whole lot of sense to bring them both back into the mix here.

They’ve had a week to prepare for this fixture because we all knew that against FC Basel, the manager was going to give Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof the nod.

It’s now up to them both to put that off-day against Stoke behind them, because they are both quality individuals and their on-field partnership seems to be flourishing right now. Hopefully, they can put in an excellent performance against a solid Everton side, and put that poor day out behind them.
