Jose Mourinho demands Manchester United sell superstar this summer: report

Jose Mourinho has told Edward Woodward to sell Anthony Martial within the next eleven days; before the European transfer deadline slams shut…

That’s according to the Daily Star, per The Metro, with the self-proclaimed Special One clearly wanting the Frenchman out of Manchester United as soon as possible.

Apparently, Mourinho made the plea directly to Edward Woodward following United’s 3-2 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion; a game in which Martial, amongst others, didn’t cover themselves in glory.

Martial and Mourinho have been at loggerheads all summer. The player did want to leave Old Trafford, whether or not that’s still the case remains to be seen.

Honestly, he was rarely playing during the back end of the 2017/18 campaign, so you can hardly blame him for wanting out. His outing against Brighton certainly looked like one of a man who doesn’t want to perform for the current manager.

Who knows, if Mourinho were to leave, I wonder if that’d change Martial’s mind about wanting to depart. I think it’s more down to a disagreement with the boss rather than anything else.

Anyway, we may never know if that’s the case, particularly if someone comes in with a suitable offer for Martial over the next week or so…
