Jose Mourinho has urged Manchester United to do everything in their power to keep hold of Marouane Fellaini, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Old Trafford club are still in talks with the big Belgian about putting pen to paper on a new contract in Manchester, but as of yet, those negotiations have clearly been unsuccessful.
Mourinho has made it clear that he values Fellaini very highly, who is yet to make a final decision on his future, with the report also claiming that Turkish side Besiktas are keeping a close watch on his situation.
I’ve always liked Fellaini, and having him as an option in the squad certainly makes sense. When a situation arises in which United need to go route one, the former Everton man is excellent in the air and he’s always good for a goal or two.
However, I wouldn’t blame him if he left. Why on earth would he want to stay here when a large portion of the fanbase continue to jeer and boo him, When he can go elsewhere and become a hero. I do hope he stays, but in my opinion, he’s going to leave on a free transfer which would be a real shame.
