Manchester United Football Club are undergoing a major transition at the moment, as Jose looks to implement his ideas and tactics on a squad that clearly has immense talent. The manager has already brought in four players, and now he looks set to shift a couple of big names.
According to Samuel Luckhurst in the Manchester Evening News, Jose Mourinho expects both Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin to depart from the Theatre of Dreams when the January transfer window opens.
The duo have been left out of Manchester United’s squad that is travelling to Odessa to take on Zorya Luhansk, and in my opinion, this could be the final nail in their Old Trafford coffins.
Memphis Depay is apparently wanted by Everton and Ronald Koeman, however, they won’t have it all their own way as AS Roma are showing an interest in the supremely talented Dutchman.
The article doesn’t really name any potential suitors for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, although you’d imagine he will attract some clubs purely based on his sensational form at Southampton before he moved to Manchester United.
At the end of the day though, it’s notoriously difficult to sell players in the January window because the season is in full swing. If Manchester United can get decent fees for the players, then shiping them on would definitely make sense as they haven’t been anywhere near good enough.
