Jose Mourinho explains why he still unhappy following Man United’s victory over Celta

Well, there you have it. Manchester United will be taking a first-leg Europa League semi-final lead back to Old Trafford. The Red Devils beat Celta Vigo 1-0 on the night, thanks to a simply stunning free-kick from Marcus Rashford.

To be honest, the game as a whole was one that Jose Mourinho’s side controlled throughout. The result never looked in doubt as United pushed and pushed to take the lead, eventually, they got their reward midway through the second half.

After the match, the United boss met the media to discuss the game. The self-proclaimed Special One admitted that he was pleased with the overall performance from his side, before adding that the result should be more comfortable.

“I am very pleased with the performance but not with the result,” said Mourinho, as per the Daily Star.

“At half-time should have been three or at least two but the result is open.”

“We played well enough to have result closed but we have to go and play at Old Trafford.

“Let’s hope Old Trafford want us to win because when Old Trafford wants it, we win.”

He’s right, too. In the first half, we had chances galore to really put the tie beyond our opponents, but with the scoreline being only 1-0, there is always a chance that they can come back into things; particularly if they score an early goal at the Theatre of Dreams next week.

With that said, it’s great to come home with an away goal and the lead in the tie. It’s a Jose Mourinho team we’re talking about here, and I have no doubt that he will set his team up correctly to get the job done.
