Jose Mourinho explains why Manchester City are practically impossible to follow

Manchester United Football Club did their bit today, beating Swansea City comfortably 2-0 in a home game. Jose Mourinho’s men showed a real fight and desire to get all three points, although the league title is all-but gone.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, the manager explained that his side has progressed in the Premier League, although it’s been a bit of a mixed season for the Red Devils, because they scooped two trophies last year. The self-proclaimed Special One then went on to heap praise on our nearest rivals, Manchester City.

“Last season we won titles but finished sixth in the league,” said Mourinho per the BBC.

“We want to finish second this year and have 10 points more than last season, more goals scored, less goals conceded, but there is a club which is making it practically impossible to follow.

“We are having a positive season and we still have the FA Cup to come. We are going to fight for our presence there.”

Like the gaffer says, sometimes, you just have to doff your cap and say well done to your opponents. City have been brilliant, and there is no getting away from that. They deserve the title this year, and they’ve been by far and away the best team.

This season will be a failure unless we win the FA Cup, but we’re making progress in the right direction, that’s for sure. Whatever happens, the fans have to stay 100% behind the manager because he’s a winner, he will get it right and take us back to the Promised Land.
