Manchester United’s biggest game of the season so far takes place this weekend, when the Red Devils host Liverpool at the Theatre of Dreams. With a win, Mourinho’s men can close the gap on the scousers to just two points, and with plenty of games still to play, it’d certainly be interesting.
Jose Mourinho met the media ahead of the big game and seemed in confident mood. Amongst the topics of discussion was United’s injury situation, and the gaffer had some hugely promising news for the fans.
“I think Rojo and Zlatan are available. I cannot confirm with 48 hours to the match but I think so.” Jose Mourinho told MUTV.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was missing in midweek due to an illness, and although it always felt like he’d be fit and ready to go for the weekend, it’s always nice to have that confirmed.
Marcos Rojo picked up a leg injury against Reading last Saturday, and it was a muscle problem which could’ve been rather serious. However, it looks as though that issue is nicely progressing, and he could well be involved against Liverpool – which is massive due to his partnership with Phil Jones at the back.
To have every single player to choose from is a massive luxury for the self-proclaimed Special One. It means he can play whatever style of football in whatever formation he so chooses, and United must be confident about getting the three points.
