Jose Mourinho hangs Manchester United player out to dry unfairly following Watford loss

Manchester United have had one extremely poor week in terms of results and all-round performances, and that obviously didn’t go down well with Jose Mourinho. The self-proclaimed Special One will want to put things right, but there is a correct way to go about it.

Following Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat to Watford, our Portuguese manager decided to berate Luke Shaw’s part in the conceding of the second goal, as well as casting everybody’s minds back to a similar incident last week against City.

Now, I’m all for the players getting told when they’ve made an error, but coming out and slating them in the media simply isn’t the right way to go about it – especially so early on in life in his new job.

It just isn’t like Mourinho. He has always been a manager who will throw himself under the bus to spare the blushes of his players, but it seems different this time.

I never like to compare us to City, but Pep Guardiola came out and said Claudio Bravo did extremely well after his derby day horror show, and I would’ve loved Jose to do the same in Luke Shaw’s case, rather than slate him to the media. Let’s be honest, it’s hardly going to get the confidence flowing.
