Jose Mourinho has his say on Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s outrageous goal

Manchester United’s form recently has been a joy to watch, and it certainly feels like the Red Devils of old are slowly but surely returning to the top of the tree. The signings made by the self-proclaimed Special One have certainly helped out, and two combined today to score a sublime goal.

The Old Trafford club were cruising late on in the game by a 2-0 scoreline when Zlatan Ibrahimovic fed in a ball to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who scored a scorpion kick to send the crowd into absolute disbelief at what they’d just witnessed.

After the match, Jose Mourinho also had his say on the game, and the reporters were keen to discuss the stunning strike by Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Obviously, the Manchester United manager was full of praise for one of his key players.

“It was beautiful. It’s a pity that it’s the third goal in the game and not a phenomenal goal to win a great match, because that would be in Manchester United history.” Jose Mourinho told Sky Sports.

“It’s always good for him, he was playing very well, he had that injury that stopped his evolution, but then he comes back, plays 35 minutes and well, and shows that he is ready to be back to the level that he himself created expectation to all of us, because he is doing great things.”

This really must’ve been a massive confidence booster for the 27-year-old who has just returned from injury. Jose Mourinho seems to fully trust the Armenia international now after a shaky start, and he really is one of those players that gets the crowd up out of their seats.

His movement, mobility, and on-field awareness is just out of this world at times, and that was summed up by that moment of genius late on today (despite him being a yard or two offside).
