Jose Mourinho hit with FA charge following victory over Newcastle

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been charged by the Football Association following the Red Devils’ impressive 3-2 come-from-behind victory at home to Newcastle United.

Sky Sports News broke the story earlier today, after Mourinho apparently swore into the camera in his native language. Now, I’m not going to repeat what he allegedly said, but apparently, they’re treating it as if the self-proclaimed Special One spoke in English, so he has been charged as normal.

An FA statement read: “It is alleged that his language at the end of the fixture, as captured by the broadcast footage, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper.”

Mourinho has until Friday to respond to the charge, and if found guilty, he could be hit with a touchline ban for his antics. That could potentially be a catastrophic blow to United’s chances at bringing something home with them during their trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday…

I get it, but what’s frustrating is that Mourinho was showing his passion. When other managers do that, like Pep Guardiola or a Jurgen Klopp, they get praised. When Mourinho does it, he gets hit with a fine. It’s similar to the water bottle incident from a season or two ago, I just always feel like our manager is treated differently, which is unfair.

Hopefully, it’s just a fine rather than a touchline ban and he can lead us into battle against his former employers on Saturday. We’re certainly going to need him…
