Manchester United could well be on their way to making a fourth summer signing, if reports from Turkish-Football are to be believed. They cite AS, who claim that Jose Mourinho has held several meetings with FC Barcelona star midfielder, Arda Turan, about a potential move to Old Trafford.
To add to that, the report reckons that Turan will either end of at Manchester United or Galatasaray this summer, with the self-proclaimed Special One being a long-term admirer of the Turkey international.
Mourinho apparently has a close working relationship with Jorge Mendes and Ahmet Bulut, who represent the player.
Turan is a fantastic player, but at 30, I’d have my doubts about bringing him in – particularly due to the fact that we’ve only recently signed Nemanja Matic.
In my opinion, this is probably just paper gossip because I’d imagine that Mourinho feels that there is more pressing matters within the first-team squad. Namely, prioritising the signing of a new left-back, with Danny Rose’s name being linked recently.
But, as we all know, absolutely anything can happen in football so don’t be surprised if this deal does happen. Personally, I just don’t see it though…
