Jose Mourinho: I knew that this Man United star would be a very important player for us

Manchester United have made some colossal signings down the years, and when Jose Mourinho was named manager, we all expected that to continue. over the summer, the gaffer made huge moves to bring in Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the latter making a real impact of late.

The 35-year-old Swede has been in a rich vein of form, and is finding the back of the net at real key moments – take this weekend for instance. Manchester United were drawing as the game was approaching the final fifteen minutes, and Ibra scored a wonderful goal on the back of an excellent Paul Pogba pass to put United in front.

Now Jose Mourinho has had his say on the situation, and claimed that he always knew Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be a massive player for Manchester United.

‘I don’t know the number of goals [he has scored], I don’t know. I knew that he would be a very important player for us. I knew that for sure.’ The Daily Mail quote Jose Mourinho as saying.

He’s right up there as one of the best in the world, and he’s ours. It’s incredible what he’s doing at thirty-five years of age in such a physically demanding league – and long may it continue.
