Manchester United were beaten, and beaten well away at Liverpool this afternoon, with the hosts winning 3-1, in a scoreline that, quite frankly flatters the Red Devils.
From first minute till last, Liverpool were the dominant force. They wanted to get on the attack and score goals, whereas United were happy so sit back and try to play out the draw.
It’s just damning. A club with so much pride, history and talent, reduced to sitting back and hoping for the best. The game itself was practially played out in our half, down Liverpool’s left-hand side.
It all stemmed from the brilliant Andrew Robertson, who bombed up and down that flank and caused us problems throughout. After the game, Jose Mourinho had praise aplenty for the brilliant Scot.
“I am tired just from looking at Robertson. Absolutely incredible.” Mourinho is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
He’s just a machine, and this game just five days following playing Napoli in a crunch Champions League match. It makes you wonder why United weren’t in the market to sign the ex-Hull City man, particularly when we’ve been struggling in that area of the field for so long.
Credit to Robertson, and his manager, because he’s now amongst the best left-backs in the world, and that was a truly incredible display from him today.
