Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are planning a major overhaul of the squad ahead of the new season, with the self-proclaimed Special One seemingly not bothered about letting some huge names go.
That’s according to Duncan Castles in the Daily Mirror. He says that our new gaffer has already deemed four key players surplus to requirements; Juan Mata, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo.
These aren’t just squad players either. Some of these guys were involved in pretty much every game last season, with Daley Blind in particular playing regularly.
We all expected Juan Mata to receive a rough ride from Mourinho as the pair have never really gotten on, but it would be sad to see him go from a fan point of view.
Bastian Schweinsteiger is a tricky one, because we all know just how good he can be. Injuries have hampered him massively in recent years, though.
Marcos Rojo is understandable. Last season it just looked as though his head just wasn’t in it, and perhaps a move away is best for all involved.
