Manchester United’s race to finish ‘the best of the rest’ continues this weekend, with West Bromwich Albion the visitors to Old Trafford.
The Baggies are sitting dead last in the Premier League table, and their task certainly won’t be made any easier with the news that the Red Devils almost have a full complement of players to choose from.
That’s according to manager Jose Mourinho, who told the media that the only player currently out injured is goalkeeper Sergio Romero; meaning Joel Pereira or Kieran O’Hara will likely get the nod on the substitutes bench.
“Everyone is perfect, apart from Romero,” said Mourinho to reporters, including ManUtd.com. “All the few players [who were injured] are ready to play.”
This is just great news. It feels like it has been years since United haven’t had many serious injuries to deal with, and it comes at a pretty good time.
Sure, the league title is done but we’ll need to be at our absolute best if we’re to beat an immense Tottenham Hotspur side in the FA Cup semi-final. Obviously, we’d also like to maintain that gap between ourselves and Liverpool, and winning here would go an awfully long way towards keeping them at an arms-length.
Hopefully, we’ll see the gaffer put some more trust in youngsters, and this game against WBA would be the ideal scenario to give more minutes to the likes of Scott McTominay.
