Jose Mourinho reassures pair that they have a future at Manchester United

Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho seemed to be embroiled in some form of row with both Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw over the weekend, as the gaffer seemingly called both of them out for not playing through the pain barrier. Instead, they both decided not to take part in the 3-1 victory over Swansea.

However, the Daily Express say that Jose Mourinho has reassured both of them and told them that they do have a future at the Theatre of Dreams despite the outburst and disagreement.

This is great news for the pair, particularly Luke Shaw. The left-back hasn’t had the best of times since returning from that injury, but his talent and capabilities is plain for all to see.

Chris Smalling has definitely been one of Manchester United’s top performers over the last twelve months, and really emerged as a leader under Louis van Gaal. It’s up to the Englishman to rediscover that form and really prove his worth to the new coach.
