Jose Mourinho reveals whether he thinks Manchester United will sign Lionel Messi

Manchester United’s aims are always extremely high when it comes to acting in the transfer market. That was brought to the fore over the summer just gone, when the club broke the world record transfer fee to bring in Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Now, reports have linked Lionel Messi with a move away from FC Barcelona, and in Jose Mourinho’s press conference today, he was asked about the possibility of Manchester United signing him.

“It’s the same story every season, that he’s going to leave.” Jose Mourinho responded.

“But he never leaves and I hope he doesn’t because he belongs to Barcelona.”

That was pretty much expected. At the end of the day, he’s Barcelona’s equivalent of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. There is absolutely no way that the little Argentinian will ever leave the Camp Nou, and to be honest, it’s quite refreshing to see a one-club man in the modern era.

He is, without doubt, one of the best players in the world. Obviously we’d all love to see him at Old Trafford but sadly, it’s just not going to happen.
