Manchester United Football Club take on Everton this Sunday, in a game that could well be a must win for the manager.

The Red Devils have been struggling recently, that much has been obvious. No doubt Marco Silva’s men will prove to be another tough test on Super Sunday…

Before that game, though, Jose Mourinho has offered an injury update as he prepares for the showdown at Old Trafford. The self-proclaimed Special One has confirmed that both Jesse Lingard and Scott McTominay are in line for a potential return, although Diogo Dalot, Marouane Fellaini and Alexis Sanchez are still missing.

You have to be excited at the prospect of Lingard returning. His energy, pace and directness is a huge asset. The excellent runs he makes opens up space for his teammates, and if he’s anywhere near full fitness I’d certainly be considering chucking him into the starting line-up. As for McTominay, at least we’ll have some much-needed depth in the squad.

Who knows what’s going on with Dalot, Sanchez or Fellaini? We’re not really sure as to what the injuries are, so putting a time-frame on their return is hard. Hopefully, they’re not sidelined for too much longer as all can bring a lot to the table.
