Manchester United played some sensational football once again this weekend, as Jose’s men edged past a very talented West Bromwich Albion team by a 2-0 scoreline. The main man was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as he found the back of the net twice with two excellently worked team goals.
The 35-year-old came to Manchester with plenty of doubt surrounding him due to the fact that he is approaching the latter stages of his career. However, he just doesn’t seem like letting up anytime soon and is playing some of the best football of his life.
So much so, that his manager has labelled him Superman. Before Jose added that he has wanted to rest him more but hasn’t really had the chance to.
‘He is doing amazingly well. He’s Superman,‘ the Daily Mail quote Mourinho as saying.
‘I was expecting to give him more rest in the Europa League but we put ourselves in a difficult situation by losing our first game in Feyenoord.’
‘But it (the games he plays) is something we do together. We communicate, we talk about his situation and his feelings.’
‘Until now he is feeling great. He is not a normal player because he is in a position where he can’t hide.’
To get this kind of praise from a manager like Jose Mourinho must absolutely fill you with supreme confidence. The pair have a special relationship, and that was one of the reasons why Zlatan decided to come and test himself here.
With sixteen goals across all competitions already, he is certainly proving his value at the moment – and the Old Trafford faithful absolutely adore their new hitman.
