Jose Mourinho trying to convince brilliant attacker to join United by phone call to agent: report

Manchester United Football Club are in desperate need of a new #9 this summer, particularly as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract has not been renewed. One name that we’ve been heavily linked with a move for is Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid.

Now reports in Spain via Marca, translated by The Sun, are claiming that Jose Mourinho has convinced Morata to make the move to Manchester United over this summer.

The report claims that Mourinho rang up Morata’s agent, Juanma Lopez, and told him to “Come with me, you will be important.”

Although the manager refused to confirm that Morata would start in every game, he has told him to come to the Theatre of Dreams and be a ‘leader’ in our attack.

For me, the Spaniard is a dream signing. He’s young, but already proven at the highest level and I’m of the opinion that this move makes perfect sense for everyone who is involved.

Real Madrid will be getting a good transfer fee, Morata will get the playing time he deserves and Manchester United are getting one hell of a brilliant football player.

Morata is quick, skilful and strong. Three traits that a modern day striker needs to be a success in Premier League football. Like we’ve said, replacing Ibrahimovic is never going to be easy, but this guy has a great chance of becoming a real icon at Manchester uNITED.

Now it is up to Edward Woodward to get this move sorted. I’d imagine that negotiations could take quite a while given the amount of money that will likely be needed to sign the player, so I guess we’ll just have to be patient and see what happens.
