Jose Mourinho is urging Manchester United Football Club to make a bid for Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso. That’s according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, per the Manchester Evening News.
The self-proclaimed Special One is understandably keen on bringing in a new left-back to the club, particularly with Luke Shaw’s future up in the air after being hauled off at half-time on Saturday.
To add to that, Don Balon reckon that United’s Portuguese coach is willing to spend a huge £70million to land the former Fiorentina star, who’s arguably the best left-back in the country at this moment in time.
Alonso is not only a supremely capable defender, he’ll also chip in on the offensive side of the game too. His delivery into the box is exceptional, and he’s always good for a few goals across the course of a season also.
I love him and I think he’s the perfect Mourinho player. Alonso is a tireless worker who’ll put in a shift for the cause, while willing to put his body on the line to secure a huge three points. I just have my doubts about this deal. Why on earth would Chelsea let him go?
