Jose Mourinho wants to sign these two centre-backs in the January transfer window – report

Jose Mourinho has big plans at Manchester United, as he looks to turn the Old Trafford club into a force once more. However, it will take time, and the amount of goals we’re conceding when we’re in winning positions must be an absolute nightmare for the manager.

That has meant more plotting and planning from the self-proclaimed Special One, and perhaps some ideas will happen quicker now – as he looks to add two centre-backs in January.

According to reports, Jose is willing to spend as much as £70million on both Aleksandar Dragovic and Virgil van Dijk to bolster his options – particularly after both Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling have gone down with serious injuries.

Van Dijk currently plies his trade for Southampton, and you have to say he is one of the top performers in terms of defenders in the country at the moment. He also chips in with a few goals here and there which would be a nice boost.

Dragovic is an Austrian centre-half who plays for Bayer Leverkusen at the moment. He’s a huge unit who loves a tough tackle, and he’d certainly add some aggression to our back line.

It’s always a gamble buying in January, but we definitely need to work on our defensive options at present. Will Jose get such a huge amount of money though? Particularly after spending close to £150million in the summer.
