Manchester United Football Club could well be about to reignite their interest in World Cup superstar, Ivan Perisic.
The Croatia international was subject of Red Devils interest last summer, but the deal eventually went dead. Now, an ESPN journalist, Stewart Robson, per the Daily Express is claiming that he thinks the transfer will happen this time around.
Robson notes that although there is competition aplenty in the left-wing flank, he expects the Inter Milan winger to head to Old Trafford and prove to be a huge success. If his time out in Russia is anything to go by, it’d be an inspired signing if Jose Mourinho could pull it off.
Perisic is experienced, quick, great off either foot, is a brilliant crosser and has a ferocious shot on him, too. He’s practically the full package, and you can see exactly why the self-proclaimed Special One chased him so hard last term.
Like Robson alludes to, there is stiff competition from Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. Obviously, displacing those three isn’t going to be easy, but Perisic’s versatility stands him in great stead. I wanted this deal to happen twelve months ago, my view hasn’t changed. It’d be an outstanding piece of business.
