Juan Mata set to be given Manchester United lifeline by Mourinho

Manchester United Football Club appointed Jose Mourinho as manager earlier this month, with the club sending out a real statement of intent to the Premier League. One man who’s place in the squad was thought to be at risk was Juan Mata, but he could have been given a huge lifeline by our new manager.

That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who say that Mourinho has texted every single member of the squad saying they will get the chance to prove their worth – including the aforementioned Mata, who would have feared the worst.

The pair had a falling out during their time spent together at Chelsea, despite Mata winning the Player of the Year award twice in a row at Stamford Bridge.

It has always seemed as though the attacking midfielder has never fit into Mourinho’s style of play, but Mata will get the opportunity to fight for his place, and prove that he has improved on his work-rates over the last couple of years.
