Juan Mata shows that football isn’t just about winning following United match

Juan Mata has always been a loveable character at Manchester United, with the fans holding a place in their heart for the smiling Spaniard. Once again, the attacking midfielder further endeared himself to the Old Trafford faithful with another touch of class.

After playing the full ninety minutes, Mata, along with the rest of his United teammates would have wanted to head straight for the tunnel. However the 28-year old took the time to go and applaud the United away end.

Furthermore than that, he noticed a disabled boy sat in a wheelchair with his dad, but he walked over to him, had a chat and offered the lad the moment of a lifetime by taking a photo with him.

This is just sheer brilliance. Football is, and always will be about the fans and Juan Mata is one of the few players that understands that.

He is forever grateful that he is allowed to play the game he loves as a profession. With little things like this certainly helping as he looks to give something back to the lads who have travelled the length of the country to watch their beloved side.
