Juan Mata loves playing against Liverpool, and ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash, the Spaniard has been speaking out about the encounter.
Without a doubt, this is Manchester United’s biggest game of the season to date. Jose Mourinho’s men remain unbeaten, but I’m certain that record will be on the line at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.
If we can manage to grind out a positive result in this match, then it’ll throw down a real marker to the rest of the Premier League.
Ahead of the game, Mata wrote his feelings down on his personal blog, per Manchester United’s official website.
Obviously, we also have to talk about our next Premier League game at Anfield. This is one of the big games of the season without a doubt. There’s no need to say what it means for us and for our fans, and I hope that we can play a great game and bring the three points back to Manchester. We will try to extend our good run of results since the season started. I also hope that none of my team-mates has physical problems in the second game with the national teams as it was the case with Marouane Fellaini, to whom I wish a speedy recovery.
Mata is just a classy individual. He has taken the time to send his thoughts to Fellaini, who’ll miss the big-game through injury. Our attacking midfielder understands what it takes to play for this club, and every single time he takes to the field he gives it absolutely everything he has.
Personally, with Liverpool’s defence looking quite shaky at present, I’d go to Liverpool and attack them early on. Get them on the back-foot and test that awful back four and goalkeeper. We’ve seen that they will leak goals, whereas United have only conceded twice this season. Let’s go out there and take the game to them; with Mata at the forefront, creating chances aplenty.
