Manchester United Football Club’s squad is looking rather depleted right about now, with injuries aplenty decimating Jose Mourinho’s plans. The latest man to be ruled out was Juan Mata, as he underwent surgery on a groin injury.
However, we’ve now been given another update on the Spaniard’s situation, and it’s a very positive one. According to the usually reliable James Ducker of The Telegraph, the 28-year-old is targeting a return to action during Manchester United’s second leg of their Europa League clash against Anderlecht – which takes place on the 20th April.
That’s just over a fortnight away, which honestly isn’t too bad considering he had to have surgery.
At the weekend, we really missed Mata’s creativity as we stumbled to yet another draw at home, this time against West Bromwich Albion.
Honestly, the sooner he is back, the better. He’s a player that seems to make us tick, and when he’s on the field we just play so much better in the offensive third of the field. He may not be the most physical man, but Mata just seems to be able to find the space to pick out that inch-perfect pass, or time a late run into the box to get himself a goal.
