Manchester United take on Chelsea in just a few hours, as Jose Mourinho prepares his squad for their toughest test of the season so far.
Ahead of the game, the Manchester Evening News have revealed the squad that’ll head to Stamford Bridge; and there are two notable absentees.
The Red Devils have been sweating on injuries all week, and although Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic have made the journey, there is no sign of either Alexis Sanchez or Marouane Fellaini.
Our Belgium midfielder picked up a problem while on international duty, as for Sanchez, who knows what has happened? It’s a shame because it was his match-winning contribution that won all three points last time out. If anything, he would have been an excellent option to have off the substitutes bench.
What that does mean is there may be chances for others. Anthony Martial looks certain to start now, while there may also be a place in the team for a Marcus Rashford who’ll be feeling confident after playing wonderfully well for England during their last fixture against Spain.
Stamford Bridge has always been an unhappy hunting ground for United, but would you bet against a Mourinho masterclass this afternoon? I certainly wouldn’t…
