It looks as though Manchester United will take on Brighton & Hove Albion without Alexis Sanchez this afternoon, with the Chile star not with the squad that travelled South yesterday.
That’s according to The Metro, who says that a 20-man Jose Mourinho squad boarded the plane, but the ex-Arsenal man wasn’t amongst them; for reasons unknown at this point in time.
I’m sure that the manager will clear things u before the game kicks off, but what a huge disappointment this is for a man who’ll be looking to right a few wrongs this season.
The 29-year-old had an excellent pre-season tour playing through the middle, but he was poor against Leicester City on the Premier League opening day. This’ll just be a further blow to his confidence, which obviously is a massive shame.
That said, I still believe this will be a good year for the Chilean. Hopefully, the problem isn’t anything too serious and we’ll see him back in action sooner rather than later. It does present an opportunity for others to step up, though. I’m looking at Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford. Either will be given a chance to make that spot in the team their own.
