Manchester United’s 2018 summer will probably haunt them for a fair while. However, it seems as though the club are trying to right those wrongs.
According to Wednesday’s edition of the Spanish paper Sport, translated brilliantly by Sport Witness, Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale would like a move to Old Trafford, should the Spanish giants sell the Welsh winger.
However, Madrid would prefer to deal Bale to Chelsea instead – due to a stronger relationship with the London club.
Bale to United has been mentioned in the media for years, even back from his Tottenham Hotspur days.
There is no doubt that he’d be a brilliant option to have in the right-wing slot, and adding another world-class player into the fold would only further enhance our chances at winning major honours next season.
He wouldn’t come cheap, however, but you’re paying for the brand as well as the player; United would make an awful lot of money on the back of the signing. That cannot be questioned.
I guess the one major concern that looms over Bale’s head is his horrific injury record. It seems as though every season he spends at least a couple of months out sidelined and that has to be a worry for whoever the next permanent United manager may be…
