Manchester United Football Club got another win under their belt yesterday, as the Red Devils came from behind to overcome a tough Middlesbrough team. The winning goal came courtesy of none other than Paul Pogba, who coolly headed the ball beyond Victor Valdes in the opposing net.
The 23-year-old Pogba just seems to be getting better and better, and recently he has been an absolute joy to watch. It’s frightening just how good he already is at such a young age, and it does make you wonder how brilliant he could be if he keeps developing and growing.
That’s a sentiment echoed by one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players in the form of Steven Gerrard, who was speaking on BT Sport’s punditry panel during the game.
“Pogba is one of the best midfielders in the world/he is only going to get better which is a scary thought being a Liverpool fan.” Gerrard said.
He’s right as well. In my opinion, midfielders tend to be at their peaks somewhere around the late twenties, and Paul Pogba still has a fair few years before that point.
Steven Gerrard is the most die-hard of Liverpool fans, and for him to admit just how good our midfield maestro is, that tells you everything you need to know.
Fair enough, he did have a slow start to life at Old Trafford, but my he’s playing some scintillating football right now.
