Manchester United’s fans have been calling for Louis van Gaal to be sacked since that horrific period in December, but somehow he has still kept his job. The man himself has now spoken out about the rumours, and he is fully expecting to still be in charge next season.
“I shall be here, that is my opinion, and now the board has to decide. That is a different way of looking at the situation.” Van Gaal said.
We all know just how confident Louis van Gaal is when it comes to his own abilities, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However there is a fine line between confidence and just plain arrogance.
Sometimes it feels as though the Iron Tulip crosses the line on occasion, and that seems to be the case once again here. After some of the dismal performances we’ve had to witness this year, you’d imagine he’d be somewhat fearful about his job. That doesn’t seem to be the case at all.
With one league game left its almost inevitable that United won’t be in the Champions League next season, and although the FA Cup final is still awaiting us, this season has to be considered a major failure.
