Louis van Gaal claims Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Manchester United

In his weekly pre-match press conference, Louis van Gaal has surprised many, and admitted that its a possibility that Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford. He does go on to say that he doubts Real Madrid will sell him, but as you’ve seen with Angel Di Maria, if the price is right, Real can be tempted into parting with their stars.

When quizzed about bringing Ronaldo back, Louis van Gaal admitted:

“It is possible, players like Ronaldo, players like Falcao give extra to the team. But I don’t think Real Madrid will sell him.”

Whether or not this is Louis van Gaal trying to stir things up in the media, or he genuinely thinks we have a chance at bringing Ronaldo back remains to be seen.

Ronaldo will be 30 next summer, and he’ll be approaching the part of his career when he’ll be on a decline. It entirely depends on how much he’ll cost in terms of a transfer fee and wages, a few days ago we reported that Ronaldo wants a huge €630,000 a week to return to Old Trafford, which works out at over £500,000 in sterling.
