Louis van Gaal confirms defender is ruled out of Sheffield United game

Manchester United’s injury problems in defence have been well documented recently, with Louis van Gaal having long-term casualties with the likes of Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo all out for several months. The Dutch manager met the media earlier, and confirmed another defensive injury.

Phil Jones hobbled off in the game last week, and today it was confirmed that the 23-year old will miss the game against Sheffield United due to that knock.

It seems like Phil Jones is made of glass. Whenever he seems to get back involved and playing well, another niggling injury seems to come out of nowhere and rule him out for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully this one isn’t too bad, and doesn’t keep him out of action for too long, but he needs to stay fit for a prolonged period of time allowing his body to develop.
